Are you passionate about creating inclusive learning environments for students with hearing loss? Were looking for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) who is committed to empowering students with auditory impairments to thriveacademically, socially, and emotionally. This role serves a small, focused caseload across elementary and middle school campuses, providing individualized support and helping students build strong communication and learning skills. You'll work closely with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure each student has the tools they need to succeed. What Youll Be Doing: Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing (AI classification) Help students build auditory skills, language development, and self-advocacy Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt materials and support inclusive access to the curriculum Monitor hearing technology use (e.g., hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM systems) and ensure classroom integration Contribute to IEP/ARD development and goal tracking Serve as a trusted resource for staff and families on hearing loss, communication strategies, and accessible education Current & Projected Caseload: Total students currently served: 5 Elementary: 2 students Middle School: 3 students Expected enrollment: 1 additional student in August 2025 Who You Are: A certified DHH teacher in the state of Texas (or eligible for certification) Experienced in supporting students with auditory impairments Knowledgeable in various communication methods (e.g., auditory-verbal, cued speech, sign language, total communication) Collaborative, flexible, and passionate about student success Confident in supporting assistive listening devices and accommodations Position Details: Start Date: August 11, 2025 End Date: May 21, 2026 Hours: Full-time or part-time (depending on candidate and student needs) Work Environment: School-based, with collaboration across multiple grade levels
