A full-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired is needed for the 2025-2026 school year to support K-12 students across seven schools within the district. This position requires providing specialized instruction and resources to visually impaired students to enhance their educational experience and promote independence. Location: Saint Cloud, FL Job Type: Full-time, Itinerant (serving seven schools) Duration: Contract through the 2025-2026 school year Work Setting: Onsite only Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instruction and services to students with visual impairments across multiple schools. Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs). Assess students functional vision and provide recommendations for accommodations and assistive technology. Train students on orientation and mobility skills and encourage development of daily living competencies. Maintain detailed records and progress reports to track student development and communicate outcomes. Advocate for accessibility and inclusion within school environments. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments. Knowledge of assistive technologies and adaptive teaching methods. Ability to travel between multiple school sites regularly. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, families, and specialists.
