Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction to visually impaired students following adapted curricula and teaching materials
Assess students visual abilities and learning needs to develop effective educational plans
Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to facilitate accessible learning environments
Utilize assistive technology and orientation and mobility techniques appropriate for young learners
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly to ensure academic growth
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation related to student outcomes
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Experience working with elementary-aged students who are visually impaired or blind
Understanding of specialized instructional methods and related assistive technologies
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to customize curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
