An educational opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) students within a K-12 public school setting located in Forsyth, GA. This position is a contracted role for the academic school year, focused on delivering specialized instruction and support to meet the unique needs of students with hearing impairments. Responsibilities: Provide direct instruction and support tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels (K-12). Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families, audiologists, and related service providers. Utilize appropriate communication methods, including sign language, assistive technology, and oral communication strategies, to enhance student engagement and learning. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to ongoing assessments of student progress. Advocate for accommodations and resources to ensure equitable access to the general education curriculum. Maintain accurate records of student performance and report progress to parents and school administrators. Qualifications: Valid teaching certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or a related field. Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Knowledge of current instructional strategies and technologies used in D/HH education. Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication modalities.
