This full-time position seeks a skilled educator specialized in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, serving grades K-12 within a school setting in Colorado Springs, CO. The role is contracted for a full semester, with a start date to be determined. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K-12 grade levels. Develop and implement accessible curriculum that meets state educational standards. Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive learning environments. Utilize assistive technologies and communication methods effectively to enhance student engagement. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instructional strategies as needed. Participate in professional development opportunities related to deaf education. Desired Qualifications: Certification or credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education. Experience working with K-12 Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Strong knowledge of communication options such as American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant methods. Ability to design lesson plans that accommodate varied learning abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive classroom culture.
