A full-time Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students is needed in Arlington, TX, to serve K-12 students across seven intermediate schools on an itinerant basis. This contract position spans the current school year with an immediate start date available.
Responsibilities include providing pull-out services to DHH students, training them on assistive equipment, advocating for student needs, enforcing classroom accommodations with teachers, and participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and evaluations (EVALs). This role requires onsite presence only, as no remote services can be provided.
Additionally, there is an opportunity for full-time maternity leave coverage from November through March at an elementary campus specializing in DHH services.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education
Experience delivering itinerant services across multiple schools
Skilled in equipment training and student advocacy
Familiarity with ARD meetings and student evaluations
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and school staff
Commitment to working onsite full-time
