Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TOD)

for an onsite position for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a contract position with full benefits and weekly pay. Responsibilities:

Provide direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across a variety of educational settings. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, parents, and related service providers. Monitor and assess student progress regularly. Utilize appropriate assistive technology and communication methods, including ASL as needed. Support students from Early Childhood through Grade 12 in both academic and communication development. Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or a closely related field is required. Licensure: Valid Kansas teaching license in general or special education. Endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TOD) must be added to the license. Exam: Successful completion of the Praxis exam for "Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students." Sign Language: Basic proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required. May need to complete ASL coursework to demonstrate proficiency. Benefits:
