A middle school is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing instruction to support students' academic and social development. Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Employ strategies and techniques to facilitate language development, communication skills, and academic achievement.
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure effective integration and support for students.
Utilize assistive technology and specialized teaching tools to enhance learning experiences.
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of best practices in Deaf education.
Qualifications:
Certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or a related field.
Experience working with middle school-aged students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Strong understanding of IEP development and special education laws.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
