This full-time, itinerant teaching position supports Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students across K-12 grade levels in an educational setting located in Alexandria, VA. The role is a contract position for the upcoming school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students throughout the school year.
Adapt and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate student success.
Utilize appropriate communication methods and assistive technologies to enhance learning and accessibility.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in DHH education.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Certification or licensure for teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Experience in an itinerant role serving K-12 DHH students.
Strong communication skills, including proficiency in sign language or other relevant communication methods.
Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple schools and educators.
