A specialized opportunity is available for a professional with expertise in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH). This position supports K-12 students across multiple sites and requires a DHH Credential. The contract runs through the school year, starting as soon as possible and concluding on June 5, 2026. Key Information: Position: DHH Credentialed Teacher Location: Multiple sites within the Oakland area Grade Levels: K-12 (all grades) Contract Duration: Until 6/5/2026 Work Hours: Up to 40 hours per week, aligned with individual site schedules Lunch Break: 30-minute unpaid break daily Responsibilities: Provide direct instructional services to approximately 25 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Offer consultation services to about 26 students, collaborating with support staff and families. Develop and adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet the unique needs of DHH students. Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records as required. Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and ongoing professional development tailored to DHH education. Preferred Qualifications: Valid California Teaching Credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing authorization. Experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting. Strong communication skills, both with students and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to manage caseload effectively while delivering high-quality individualized instruction.
