A full-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) and Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) is needed to support K-12 students in a South San Francisco school district. This contract position spans the 2025-2026 school year and requires in-person work as an itinerant specialist, providing critical services directly to students across multiple locations. The successful candidate will work with students who have visual impairments, delivering specialized instruction and mobility training to promote independence and educational achievement. While full-time candidates are preferred, part-time arrangements to share the caseload are also considered. Key Qualifications: Valid licenses and certifications as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) and Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting Ability to work itinerantly, traveling within the district to provide in-person support Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and school staff Commitment to student progress and individualized support plans Primary Responsibilities: Provide assessment and instruction tailored to students with visual impairments Deliver orientation and mobility training that promotes safe and independent navigation Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines This opportunity is ideal for professionals dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of visually impaired students through targeted, hands-on support.
