Seeking skilled educators specializing in Deaf/Hard of Hearing and Visual Impairment for a K-12 school setting in Penrose, Colorado. This contract position runs the full academic year (CSY) and focuses on supporting students with sensory disabilities to access the general curriculum effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or visually impaired across K-12 grade levels.
Develop and adapt educational materials tailored to students individual communication and learning needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and other support staff to implement appropriate accommodations.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records and reports.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development and needs.
Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
Experience working with K-12 students with sensory impairments.
Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technology.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under contract terms for the full academic year.
