Seeking qualified Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a K-12 educational setting in Kirtland, NM. This position is available for both full-time and part-time placements and spans a full semester contract. The role involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring they receive an effective and accessible education. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments Deliver specialized instruction in orientation and mobility, braille, assistive technology, and other relevant skills Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student success Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed Provide resources and training to school staff regarding visual impairment accommodations and strategies Qualifications and Desired Experience: Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments Familiarity with braille instruction, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility principles Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs Location: Kirtland, New Mexico This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and independence of visually impaired students in a supportive environment.
