Teacher - English Language Development Provides an educational foundation that allows each student to reach his or her individual potential. English Language Development (ELD) programming in DCSD provides instruction in English using a collaborative structured immersion approach, including coteaching at the universal level, and providing targeted and intensive language support as necessary. Serves every assigned Multilingual Learner (ML) directly and consistently in collaboration with staff to serve the strengths and needs of every ML. Uses a wide variety of collaborative, translingual, and asset-focused instructional linguistic strategies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
Endorsement in Linguistically Diverse Education (LDE) or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) learners; Elementary teaching license (for Elementary); Highly Qualified in Language Arts or related content area (Secondary).
LICENSES & CERTIFICATION:
Colorado Department of Education Professional License with CLD or LDE Endorsement, or other appropriate CDE/TESOL license with the intention to obtain the CLD Endorsement. If in process of obtaining the CLD endorsement, candidates must reflect the CLD or Bilingual CLD endorsement on the license within 2 years of the date of hire.

Operate and use personal computers, related software and equipment (e.g., printer), telephone - May be required to travel using personal vehicle
ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in a school or virtual setting. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional lifting five (5) to ten (10) pounds - Frequent sitting - Frequent walking - Frequent driving - Occasional bending, squatting, or standing - Must be able and willing to obtain other certifications required for the position
Responsibilities: Identify, plan for, and serve Multilingual Learners directly and consistently
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Craft instruction that meets the needs of each Multilingual Learner
Administer/assist with administration of state and federal assessments for Multilingual Learners (ie: ACCESS for ELLs, CMAS, PSAT/SAT)
Collaborate with school personnel, students, and families
Work some evenings as necessary
Support teachers with programming related to identifying, planning for, and serving Multilingual Learners
Facilitate and coordinate multidisciplinary team approaches and problem solving to meet the unique strengths and needs of Multilingual Learners
Identify and provide ELD related information / resources to educators
Create and maintain MLPs for each identified Multilingual Learner

Position Salary Schedule Eligibility: Hard to Hire
Licensed position salaries are set based on one of three salary schedules; General, Hard to Hire, and Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire. DCSD will award up to 7 years of previous licensed teaching experience at the time of hire.
