Position Details
The Teacher, Early Childhood Special Education is responsible for the instructional program and the coordination and implementation of the learning activities for the students in the assigned area of responsibility. The teacher is responsible for coordination of the instructional activities of the para-educator and of support staff services for students assigned to the classroom.
Available:
One (1) full-time position, Approximately 7 hours per day, 187 days per year
Salary:
The Genesee Intermediate Education Association (GIEA) offers a competitive salary schedule for certificated staff, with consideration given to years of service. For the 2024-2025 school year , the salary schedule includes a 2% increase on the schedule, with salaries ranging from $36,896 to $87,437 , depending on qualifications and experience. For the 2024-2025 school year, eligible special education positions will receive an additional 2% off-schedule stipend.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required. Valid Michigan teacher certificate required with at least one endorsement in special education and either of the following: ZA or ZS/Early Childhood Education endorsement or a major or minor in early childhood education/child growth and development as recommended by an approved college/university.
Experience:
Demonstrated successful experience teaching infants and toddlers with disabilities desirable. Successful experiences working with parents of children with disabilities.
