JOB TITLE Teacher (Certified) SUMMARY:

Overall responsibility for educational assessment, multi-disciplinary team educational input, and

responsibility for planning and implementing educational programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

Education: Bachelor’s degree in education required.

Licensure: N/A

Certification: Certification in special education preferred.

Experience: Experience working with emotionally disturbed and/or learning disabled children

preferred.

Knowledge/Skills: Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.

Verbal/written communication skills.

EQUIPMENT:

Computer, fax, copier and any other equipment required to perform the functions of the position.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of individual

educational plans for each individual.

2. Responsible for monitoring the completion of lesson plans.

3. Schedules and charts M-teams and/or 504 conferences with parents and school personnel.

4. Acts as liaison to schools, concerning admission, discharge, recommendations, and

pertinent information.

5. Provide educational assessments of children.

6. Responsible for development and implementation of classroom behavior management

program.

7. Responsible for bi-weekly communication with schools of origin to facilitate a consistent

educational experience or students

8. Schedule students attendance of EOC/SAT/ACT testing in compliance with graduation

expectations.

9. Supervises the teacher aide’s implementation of educational and behavioral

management programs.

10. Responsible for maintenance of attendance records.

11. Responsible for maintenance of policies and procedures required by regulating

and accrediting bodies.

12. Responsible for documentation of appropriate records.

13. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services and

individual program planning staffings as needed.

14. All other duties as assigned.
