Summary

As an Assistant Teacher, you will be responsible for supporting the Lead Teachers in the classroom to ensure that the educational goals of the program are met. Duties may include working with small groups of children, preparing class materials, observing and monitoring children’s behavior, and communicating with parents and other staff members.





Duties

  • Assist students with special educational needs.
  • Tutor students who need extra assistance.
  • Supervise school or student activities.
  • Enforce rules or policies governing student behavior.
  • Monitor student performance.
  • Maintain student records.
  • Collaborate with other teaching professionals to develop educational programs.
  • Monitor student performance.
  • Teach others to use technology or equipment.
  • Apply multiple teaching methods.
  • Display student work.
  • Distribute instructional or library materials.
  • Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products.
  • Distribute instructional or library materials.
  • Create technology-based learning materials.
  • Serve on institutional or departmental committees.
  • Develop instructional materials.
  • Assist students with special educational needs.
  • Supervise school or student activities.

  • Work coverage, based on the academy's shift schedule requirement as follows:

FULL-TIME
  • from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
  • from 8:30PM to 5:30PM.
  • from 2:30PM to 11:30PM.

PART-TIME
  • from 8:00AM to 2:00PM.
  • from 11:30PM to 5:30PM.
  • from 2:30PM to 11:30PM.


Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required, although some college coursework and/or an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with young children is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, with a demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping children learn are essential qualities for success in this role.
  • Montessori and/or STEAM training and experience are preferred but not required.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check and meet all state licensing requirements.
