Job Summary
Thurston Woods School is actively recruiting licensed and experienced candidates for an Art teaching position. A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) art teacher provides an arts program based on the National Core Arts Standards for regular and special education students which is appropriate to their needs and developmental level. The art teacher provides creative opportunities for all students in a variety of mediums. The MPS art teacher works collaboratively with school staff in order to integrate core curricular areas into the arts experience. In addition, they work with various community arts partners in order to provide additional high-quality arts programming for students. The educational program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively. The teacher's work supports the MPS strategic plan.

Qualifications
Applicants must be licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to teach the respective specific grade level and/or content area. Eligible applicants must apply during the application window and include: EXTERNAL CANDIDATES EXTERNAL fully licensed teachers Student or permit teachers, practicum students, and interns who will be fully licensed by August, 2025 Permit or intern teachers in need of another 1-year license with stipulations for 2025-26 Bachelor degreed individuals pursuing a teaching/counseling/librarian position and licensure
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The salary range starts at $54,386.11 and increases according to the set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor's degree and previous years of fully-licensed K-12 teaching experience.
