Overview: Design and implement instructional program for students with intellectual disabilities that incorporates students’ individualized education program Adapting materials from general education classroom Develop IEPs and monitor student progress Effective implementation of behavioral intervention strategies Work collaboratively with speech, occupational and physical therapists Manage paraprofessional staff assigned to classroom Effectively communicate orally and in writing Administer alternate assessment Lifting, positioning, feeding, diapering, assist with personal hygiene routines, physical education activities (including swimming) Successful implementation of approved de-escalation and restraint techniques
Qualifications: Must be  Certified in Special Education and highly qualified in General Elementary. Required Certificate(s): (One or more are required to qualify for this position.)
