Position Description:
Applicants for the Adult Basic Education (ABE) position will work with adult students, ages 18 and up, who wish to earn their GED or improve their basic skills. Applicants should be able to work with students at different instructional levels and manage a differentiated learning environment.
General Responsibilities: Utilize a variety of teaching techniques to teach basic to upper level reading, math and writing.
Manage student’s individualized learning plans to prepare for the GED or improve their basic skills.
Retain students to complete their educational goals.
Use data to make educational decisions and monitor student progress.
Utilize Schoology, Google applications and computer aided learning platforms as needed for delivery and development of curriculum.
Actively work to meet the school’s annual targets and goals.
Work with administrative staff to deliver orientation, career services and connect to community services.
Must be able to assist students in an independent study scenario, in person and remotely.
Attend professional development and staff meetings as needed.
Must be able to work with a variety of learning abilities and age groups.
Maintain accurate records.
Must be dependable and commit to faithful job attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
Pay: $33.00 an hour
Required Certificate(s): (One or more are required to qualify for this position.)
Delaware middle or high school, Adult Education or related license.
