Cornerstone CDC, a private preschool in the St. Matthews area of Louisville, is seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our staff. This teacher will fill in for our classroom teachers as needed for sick days, vacations or scheduled appointments. Some dates will be scheduled in advance, while other opportunities to work may be same-day requests.

This is the perfect position for student, retired teacher or anyone else needing a flexible and self-directed work schedule. There are no minimum or maximum hours a substitute teacher must work per week, though the average is between 15 and 30 hours.

We are seeking candidates who are energetic, nurturing and enjoy working as part of a team. We are a Reggio Emilia inspired preschool program where we focus on the whole child--empowering their thoughts, questions, interests, and in turn fostering a lifelong love of learning.

At Cornerstone, our staff are more than just teachers. They are the guides that take children through the journey of learning. They are the scribes who listen, record and display classroom experiences. They are advocates for the children, and they work closely with colleagues and parents to foster an inviting, interesting, community-based learning environment.

The pay for the substitute teaching position is between $14-$19 per hour based on education and experience in a similar position.

Teachers are required to be over 18 and possess a high school diploma. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, customer service experience and enjoy working as a member of a team.
