ESE Substitute Teacher
Provides developmentally appropriate instruction within the classroom and learning environment.
Education and/or experience: Minimum of a two-year degree (A.A.) or (A.S.) from an accredited two-year college.

Mathematical skills: Ability to work with math concepts such as add and subtract two digits numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to apply such concepts as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid Florida Drivers License or I.D. card, HIV course, CPR, Active Substitute Teacher Certificate from the State of Florida Department of Education, 40 Hour Child Care course. A Confidentiality Agreement is required and must be signed upon commencement of service.
Language skills: Ability to read, and analyze lesson plans, letter/notes from parents, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, and employees of the organization.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Carry out and maintain lesson plan that classroom teacher has prepared.
- Follows programs and recommendations of therapists.
- Supervises teacher assistants in classroom.
- Maintains classroom in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Works cooperatively with all classroom staff, teachers and supervisors.
- Reports social concerns and/or neglect to school social worker.
- Reports minor accidents/incidents to school nurse and parents.
- Follows universal precautions.
- Reports to Preschool program administrator for schedule of available open teaching days.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
