Major Duties And Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans and daily classroom activities that are developmentally appropriate for preschool-aged children
Maintain a well-kept, healthy and safe classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence
Foster a positive, organized and healthy learning environment
Supervise children during play and learning activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
Assist with daily classroom routines, including meal and nap times, and help maintain an organized classroom environment.
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding their child’s progress and development
Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and other team members to create a positive and supportive learning environment
Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other training opportunities as required
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all children in the classroom
Attend continuing training/education classes designed to broaden professionalism, knowledge, and skills involving early childhood development as required by Federal and State regulations and the administration
Ensure that all children are treated with respect, dignity, and kindness
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom or childcare setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
Certifications Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
Background check
Documentation of negative TB screening/test
Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move around for long hours at a time while teach
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel as needed
