Carlow University's Campus Laboratory School is now accepting applications for our Substitute Teacher role. The Campus Laboratory School (CLS) of Carlow University is seeking reliable, flexible, and student-centered individuals to join our substitute teacher pool. Substitute teachers play a vital role in maintaining instructional continuity and classroom culture during teacher absences. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong classroom management, a positive attitude, and a commitment to supporting the learning and well-being of all students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher or school leadership. • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment. • Supervise students in the classroom and during transitions, lunch, or recess as needed. • Communicate with school administrators regarding student concerns or incidents. • Follow school policies, routines, and behavioral expectations. • Leave notes for the returning teacher summarizing the day’s progress and any notable events. MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED: • Bachelor’s degree in education MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred. • Ability to manage a classroom and ensure student safety. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: • PA Clearances required: Act 34 (Criminal History), Act 151 (Child Abuse), Act 114 (FBI Fingerprint), and Act 168 (Sexual Misconduct Disclosure).
