Summary

The UU World of Children is seeking caring and dependable Substitute Teachers to join our team. Substitutes provide support in the classroom on an as-needed basis, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young children, value a nurturing learning environment, and want a flexible schedule.

Duties

As a substitute assistant teacher, your responsibilities include:

Assisting the lead teacher Upkeep/Cleaning of the classroom areas and supplies Interacting with children while encouraging independence Supervising lunch/snack and playground times Keeping children safe and engaged Support children's independence and exploration in a respectful way

Requirements

Must be at least 18 and possess a strong work ethic and a desire to work with children. High School diploma Experience working with young children (through camps, babysitting, classroom, etc.) Ability to pass required state background checks Complete 15 hours of online training within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

6 months experience in a licensed childcare facility Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Early Childhood Education or a related field Familiarity or interest in Montessori education principles Strong communication and collaboration skills Positive attitude, flexibility, and a strong work ethic Enthusiasm for nature-based learning and outdoor play
