Location: Jackson Elementary School

District: Shakopee School District Description: 1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute (LTS) - Special Education ASD Center-Based Teacher for Jackson Elementary School. Tentative assignment start date August 18, 2025 through mid November, 2025.

Job Summary: Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in the areas of academic and social, emotional, communication and behavior skills in an ASD classroom setting, monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork; communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, direct the work of paraprofessional(s).

Provide instruction in content area in accordance with each student's ability, create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Establish effective working relationships with students and parents, works collaboratively with other staff members.

Education/Training/Experience: Valid MN teaching licensure in Special Education; the District may consider a Tier 1 or Tier 2 licensed candidates Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students Preference to experience supporting students with EBD, ASD and/or OHD Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction Pay & Benefits Information : Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance HSA & VEBA options Flexible Spending & Dependent Care options Accidental Injury & Critical Illness Insurance Life Insurance Short- & Long-term Disability Insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) Plan + district contribution 403(B) plan + district contribution

Salary can range anywhere between $50,000 to $118,444 depending upon education level and experience.
