BASIC FUNCTIONS:
•Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experience designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Assist and support building principal to ensure on-site administration and execution of the district's educational programs, policies, and regulations and quality instruction for all students in a safe and healthy environment.
•Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to support the development of Individual Education Plans (IEP) for each student.
•Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students and show written evidence of preparation as required.
•Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
•Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
•Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
•Manage student behavior and administer discipline, including intervening in crises and physically restraining students as necessary according to IEP.
•Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other required documents.
Salary commensurate with education and experience
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer - Human Capital Management.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Required bachelor's degree from accredited university
•Required Valid Teacher Certificate with valid endorsements for subject and subject level assigned
•Demonstrated willingness to improve competency by periodically participating in some form of professional growth.
•Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula as needed, and assist special education students in regular classes with assignments.
•Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer operations such as Microsoft office (word, PowerPoint) email, Exceed.
•Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
