District: Lapeer County Intermediate School District IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to the critical shortage of certified special education teachers, a temporary approval may be obtained for any certified teacher (general education or special education) who is willing to enroll in a Michigan-approved institute of higher education to obtain a special education endorsement that matches the program opening. The Lapeer ISD is willing to consider certified teacher candidates who would be willing to enroll in a Michigan-approved institute of higher education in order to obtain a cognitive impairment (SA) endorsement). If hired, candidates would receive up to $800 per credit hour in tuition reimbursement as long as they agree to commit to working for the Lapeer ISD for at least one year following the obtainment of the endorsement. Note, in order to continue the temporary approval, 6 credit hours must be completed per year. Days & Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch for 187 days in accordance with the Special Education Calendar

Compensation: $46,071 - $92,946 (in accordance with bargaining unit agreement)

Paid-Leave Days: 10 Sick Days and 2 Personal Business Days

Insurances: Health, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability, and Life or $150 monthly cash option in lieu of Health + other insurances

Retirement: MI Public School Employees Retirement System (MPSERS)
