Job Title: Special Education Teacher. Location: The Learning Center by Theracare Mesa, Arizona. Job Type: 1099 contract position for year-round Special Education and flexible scheduling. We strive to ensure every child reaches their full potential through individualized education plans, innovative teaching methods, and a collaborative approach involving families and specialized therapists. Position Overview: We have openings for four teachers: One passionate and experienced teacher for our kindergarten through first-grade students. The ideal candidate will commit to high-level individualized education and possess a background in working with support staff and therapies. Two teachers with experience in curriculum development and differentiated learning to work in a virtual and in-person home school model. One reading support teacher to provide individualized reading support to students diagnosed with Learning Disabilities (LD). These are exciting opportunities to join a collaborative team of educators and therapists who believe in addressing the whole child through a therapeutic education model.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement Yearly Learning Plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Collaborate with parents and therapists to integrate and support students. Provide direct instruction to students in small group 1:3-1:4 or individual settings, utilizing various teaching strategies and techniques. Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instruction to ensure academic growth and development. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student performance and progress. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on support strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education or a related field. State teaching certification. Experience working with kindergarten through second-grade students. Strong understanding of various disabilities and their educational implications. Experience collaborating with support staff, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other related service providers. Knowledge of or experience with dyslexic reading support and interventions is a plus. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
