Position Details
Waterford Montessori Academy is a tuition-free, PreK-8 public charter school, with approximately 400 students spanning two campuses located in Waterford, Michigan. We are currently seeking a Michigan-certified Special Education Teacher, or a certified teacher who is enrolled in a Special Education program, to join our team for the 2025-26 school year. WMA houses team of collaborative, student-centered, and data-driven educators that are deeply committed to helping every child reach their individualized goals. Main Responsibilities: Teaching and supporting K-8 students in academic, behavioral, and social development.
Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Collaborating with general education teachers, specialists, and families.
Using data to develop instruction and measure progress.
Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment. Requirements: Michigan-certified teacher with a Special Education endorsement or a Michigan-certified teacher who is currently enrolled in a Special Education program.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to implement and adapt curriculum based on student needs and IEP goals.
