Special Education Teacher

Job Summary: Develops and implements strategies to meet the needs of students with a variety of special needs. Confers with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and professionals to develop individual educational plans designed to promote student educational, physical, and social development. Modifies the general education curriculum for special needs students based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies. Ability to set clear expectations for student behavior by applying positive behavior supports and interventions as needed. Qualifications: Illinois Certificates - LBS I, Bachelor's Degree Ability to function effectively as a member of the school staff Such other requirements as the Board may establish Salary/Benefits: Placement on teachers' salary schedule, depending on training and experience Health/Dental/Life Insurance
