Special Education Teacher

Inova Kellar School Fairfax is looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join the team. The Special Education Teacher works within a defined schedule during a 10.5-month academic year. All hours and job duties are applicable to 10.5 months. This role will be full-time night shift from Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Special Education Teacher Job Responsibilities:

Ensures that student progress is measured by written and alternate response modes (i.e. tests, quizzes, homework, class participation, reports and projects).

Ensures that the quality of documentation reflects progress on IEP goals and objectives in a timely, professional and informative manner.

Formulates mutually agreed-upon IEP goals and objectives with clients by utilizing all available resources.

Uses pre-assessment data to develop expectations for students to differentiate instructions and to document learning.

Establishes clear expectations, with student input, for classroom guidelines and procedures early in the school year and enforces them and the school-wide behavior management protocol consistently and fairly.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field

Experience: One year of professional experience in a school setting.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation- Within 3 months

Licensure: Within 6 Months "Must hold or be eligible to hold a Collegiate Professional License, or Postgraduate professional license or provisional license with the Department of Education, Commonwealth of Virginia"
