Job Position: Middle School Special Education Teacher (20252026 School Year) Location: Niles, IL Pay Rate: $40.00/hr to $50.00 Description: Birch Agency is currently hiring a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to work with middle school students for the 20252026 school year near Niles, IL. This full-time, in-person position involves managing a caseload of approximately 8 to 10 students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) , with varying support needs. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs
Deliver differentiated instruction in small group or individual settings
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
Use evidence-based strategies to support students with Autism
Foster a classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and learning
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred)
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
Experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Ability to create a safe and inclusive learning space
