This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a self-contained Essential Academics classroom, supporting middle and high school students with moderate to significant needs in a structured and collaborative environment. Position Details: * Role: Special Education Teacher * Location: Austin, Texas * Setting: Self-contained Essential Academics classroom (Middle & High School) * Schedule: Monday–Friday, school hours * Duration: August 2025 – May 2026 (full school year) Responsibilities: * Provide direct instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals and academic needs. * Modify and adapt curriculum for students with developmental and cognitive disabilities. * Support students in developing functional, academic, and social-emotional skills. * Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers. * Participate in IEP development and ensure documentation and compliance. * Maintain a structured, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. * Participate in professional development and contribute to school initiatives. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree required. * Completion of an approved educator preparation program. * Passing scores on applicable Texas certification exams. * Active TEA Special Education Certification required. * Experience with self-contained or Essential Academics classrooms preferred. * Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
