Position Details

Position: Special Education Teacher (Full Time)

Starting Date: August 18, 2025

Qualifications: State of Michigan Teaching Certificate in Secondary or Elementary Education

State of Michigan K-12 Special Education Endorsement in any area Duties Include: Write Individualized Education Plans to meet the needs of the whole child

Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation

Assess students skills and determine their needs

Meets and instructs assigned special education students

Adjust lessons to meet students needs

Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop IEP.

Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and coordinate special education services per each students IEP

Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents.

Supervises students, paraprofessionals, and volunteers. Plan and develop student learning opportunities with teacher paraprofessionals.

Follows special education procedural requirements

Understand and implement special education laws and regulations.

Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students while meeting district curriculum requirements

Commits and contributes to our district goals and objectives: ensure our students are future ready; ensure the transparent, efficient, and effective use of district and community resources to continue building future ready learning environments; students a positive well-being

Serves as a strong advocate for children and actively builds relationships with families, staff, and our #ONEHIVE community

Other duties as assigned by the principal Salary: Per Concord Education Association master agreement
