Chester Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team. This full-time position will primarily serve students in the primary grades (Kindergarten through Grade 2). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early literacy and numeracy, as well as experience with behavior management strategies appropriate for young learners.

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team committed to providing inclusive, individualized, and developmentally appropriate instruction to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Responsibilities include: Providing specialized instruction in accordance with IEP goals and objectives Collaborating with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families Supporting the development of foundational literacy and numeracy skills Implementing evidence-based behavior support strategies Monitoring student progress and maintaining appropriate documentation Participating in PPTs and contributing to IEP development Qualifications: Valid Connecticut certification in Special Education (165 - Comprehensive Special Education, K-12) or equivalent Strong knowledge of early childhood development, literacy, and numeracy instruction Experience with behavior intervention plans and classroom management techniques Excellent communication and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
