MIYO Health is seeking full-time, onsite Special Education Teachers to join our team in supporting K–8 students in the Detroit area. Position Details Grade Levels Needed: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 8th (assignments will be based on best fit for the candidate) Service Model: Traditional push-in and pull-out support within the school day Caseload: 16–21 students per FTE (based on how many positions are filled) Ideal caseload: 15–18 students Schedule: Full-time, in-person during regular school hours Start Date: Staff return: August 13, 2025 | Students begin: August 26, 2025 Requirements Requirements Valid Michigan teaching certification in Special Education Experience with IEP development, compliance, and service delivery Ability to provide both academic and behavioral supports Strong communication and collaboration skills Must be available to work onsite in Detroit, MI Core Values & Professional Expectations: Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and adaptability Uphold professional conduct and confidentiality standards Commit to continuous learning and professional growth Be a positive role model and advocate for inclusive education Physical Requirements: This role may involve: Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally Engaging in physical activities required for classroom and school settings Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential bodily fluids in a school environment Reasonable accommodations can be provided to enable qualified individuals to perform essential job functions.
