The Special Education Alternative Learning is a continuum of special education services and programming designed to meet the unique needs of students who have demonstrated difficulty with social, emotional and behavioral skills in the school setting. The primary role of the SEALS special educator is to facilitate students' success in academics, interpersonal skills and emotional regulation. The program has two teachers each with a caseload of approximately 5-8 students. It is also staffed with paraeducators and uses a multidisciplinary team approach to providing special education and related services.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the special educator leads the team in designing and implementing creative ways to reach, teach, and engage students so they can fulfill their potential cognitively, socially, emotionally and apply these skills to a growth mindset and self-efficacy.

Strong communication skills with families, colleagues, and outside agencies
Strong interpersonal skills
Educational philosophy that includes responsive/restorative practices
Knowledge of best practices in special education
Ability to use instructional technology
Proficiency in completing Academic Achievement evaluations
Proficiency with IEP development and implementation
Certification: Comprehensive Special Education (065) - or - Integrated Early Childhood/Elementary Education PK-3 (113) - or - DSAP certification required
Salary: Per Lebanon Education Association Contract
FTE: 1.0 FTE
