Position: Special Education Teacher (In-Person)

Start Date: mid July 2025 (the district is on a modified year round schedule so longer breaks throughout the school year)
MIYO Health is seeking a passionate, Arizona-certified Special Education Teacher (resource math - grades 6-8) to provide in-person instructional services to students in the Apache Junction area. In this role, you’ll help students with exceptional needs reach their full potential by delivering tailored instruction, collaborating with school teams, and fostering a supportive classroom environment.
What You’ll Do:- Deliver engaging instruction aligned with IEP goals and Arizona state standards
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and growth
- Adapt general education curriculum to meet the individualized needs of students
- Conduct assessments and evaluate student progress
- Collaborate with families, general education teachers, service providers, and school staff
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation per state and district policies
- Implement behavioral strategies and supports as needed
- Support school-wide initiatives and participate in staff development activities

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field
- Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- SEI Endorsement preferred
- Experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities
- Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
- Availability for the entire 2025-2026 school year
- Live within driving distance of Apache Junction, AZ or considering moving to that area
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and adaptability
- Uphold professional conduct and confidentiality standards
- Commit to continuous learning and professional growth
- Be a positive role model and advocate for inclusive education
This role may involve:
- Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Engaging in physical activities required for classroom and school settings
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential bodily fluids in a school environment
