Ottawa Area ISD is excited to announce a vacancy for a Special Education Teacher (MOCI). This role is fundamentally focused on providing quality education to students with moderate cognitive impairments at our center-based educational setting, Ottawa Area Center (OAC), which is dedicated to serving special needs students.

Qualifications:

The ideal applicant must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate with an SA endorsement; however, a Cognitive Impairment endorsement is preferred. Credentials must meet Michigan special education requirements

Experience teaching in MICI -MOCI-SCI continuum and working with students with challenging behaviors required. Moderate to heavy lifting may be required.

Must have excellent communication skills and ability to establish relationships with community and parents.

Ideal candidate will have CPR/First Aid certification and CPI training.

This role may involve moderate to heavy lifting.

Schedule: Full Time, semi-balanced calendar

Compensation: Per OAEA Contract. Starting salary is $56,486 and above.
