A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school serving students in grades K-5. This role focuses primarily on supporting students with language and articulation needs and includes involvement with an autism program requiring additional support. Location: Stamford, Connecticut Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with diverse learning needs, specifically focusing on language and articulation. Provide targeted instruction and interventions for students with special education needs, including those in an autism support program. Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and other support staff to promote inclusive learning environments. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual goals. Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with state special education regulations. Qualifications: Valid Connecticut Special Education (CT SPED) certification. Experience teaching elementary students, particularly K-5. Strong background in addressing language and articulation challenges. Familiarity with autism spectrum disorder programs and strategies. Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and team members. Ability to work full-time preferred; part-time consideration possible. This contracted position is available for the current school year.
