A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting. This contract position is focused on delivering high-quality education to students in grades K and 3rd through 5th during the 2025-2026 school year. The role is located onsite at a school in the Naval Anacost Annex, DC. Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities Providing a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic and social growth Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, counselors, and general education staff Tracking student progress and maintaining accurate records in compliance with special education regulations Communicating regularly with parents or guardians to discuss student development and progress Managing classroom activities and behavior to promote a positive learning atmosphere Desired qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with elementary students in self-contained settings Strong knowledge of special education laws and best practices Ability to design and adapt curriculum for diverse learners Excellent communication and organizational skills Position details: Location: Naval Anacost Annex, DC Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.
