This opportunity is designed for a dedicated Special Education Teacher skilled in supporting students with intensive needs across two adaptive and inclusion classrooms in elementary and high school settings. The roles focus on delivering tailored educational experiences for students with Autism and nonverbal communication challenges, providing meaningful instruction and support. Locations and Class Details: Elementary Self-Contained Classroom (Grades K-3) Caseload: 7 students Focus: Adaptive classroom for students with Autism and nonverbal needs Support: At least two teaching assistants in the classroom Located at primary campus
High School Inclusion Classroom (Grades 9-12) Caseload: Approximately 15 students, potentially up to 37 daily Emphasis on inclusive practices within one school location
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Special Education Certification, preferably Adaptive Certification, but open to other certifications and out-of-state candidates Experience with self-contained and inclusion classrooms is valuable Ability to work effectively with students who have intensive behavioral and communication challenges Strong collaboration skills to work alongside teaching assistants and other educators Commitment to full-time, onsite presence Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Deliver adaptive and inclusive instruction that addresses diverse learning styles and abilities Collaborate with teaching assistants and school staff for comprehensive student support Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction as needed Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment Schedule: Contract duration for the 2025/2026 school year (CSY) Full-time, onsite role Working hours: 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Employment period: August 18 through May 22 If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with intensive needs and meet the qualifications, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to apply your special education expertise in a dynamic setting.
