An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support K-8 students in a dynamic public school environment in Austin, TX. This full-time, contract position for the New School Year involves providing specialized instruction through both push-in and pull-out services, fostering student growth and inclusion.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering individualized instruction to approximately 30 students across grades K-8
Collaborating with general education teachers to support student learning in inclusive settings
Leading and actively participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings
Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and compliance standards
Maintaining accurate documentation and progress reporting for each student
Qualifications:
Valid Texas Department of Education EC-12 Special Education teaching license is required
Proven experience with ARD meetings and student evaluation processes
Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Strong organizational skills to manage diverse student caseloads and administrative duties
Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment
The position offers a weekday schedule from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, providing stability and routine.
