A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in an elementary school setting, focusing on a self-contained Life Skills classroom for Kindergarten and 1st grade students. This contract role spans the entire school year, with a schedule from 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM. Key responsibilities include: Delivering individualized instruction to K-1 students within a Life Skills program Collaborating with support staff, including an ECSE Teacher, ARD Facilitator, and District Behavior Specialist, to develop and implement tailored educational plans Conducting assessments and participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to ensure compliance and student progress Maintaining accurate records and fostering a positive learning environment that supports student development Qualifications and desired experience: Valid Texas Special Education (SPED) Certification is required Experience working in a self-contained Life Skills classroom preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with team members and families Ability to manage behavior and adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs Location: Elementary school in the Dripping Springs area Benefits and perks: Full benefits package offered Competitive pay commensurate with experience Supportive team environment with access to district specialists Immediate interviews are being scheduled for this role.
