The first position involves managing a self-contained adaptive classroom for grades K-3. This role caters to students with intensive needs, including autism and nonverbal communication challenges, with a manageable caseload of 7 students and at least two teaching assistants supporting daily activities. The focus is on creating a nurturing, structured environment tailored to individualized education plans.
The second opportunity is within an inclusion classroom serving grades 9-12. This position requires managing a caseload that ranges from approximately 15 to 37 students daily. The role demands dynamic classroom management skills and adaptability to support a broader range of student abilities within the inclusion model.
Qualifications and experience desired:
Special education certification, preferably Adaptive Education certification; other certifications considered
Experience with K-3 self-contained classrooms or inclusion settings in secondary education
Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with autism and intensive needs
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teaching assistants and school staff
Willingness to work full-time onsite during school hours (8:00 AM to 2:45 PM), from August 18 through May 22
