Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher for Autism and Behavioral Support to coordinate and deliver tailored instructional programs for students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will monitor and evaluate individualized education programs (IEPs), maintain confidentiality, and adhere to all relevant laws and guidelines throughout the district. Create a supportive and engaging environment conducive to learning.
Minimum Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of instructional practices tailored for specialized instruction.
Solid understanding of curriculum standards and age-appropriate developmental expectations.
Familiarity with state and federal policies governing services for students with disabilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to safeguarding the confidentiality of student information as per federal and state laws.
Capability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Ability to motivate and inspire students.
Constant diligence in monitoring student safety and well-being.
Understanding of various backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proven ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Education, Training, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
Certification and License Requirements:
Possess or be eligible for a Professional Educator's License in an Exceptional Children's teaching area.
Maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license in accordance with state requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
First Aid and CPR certifications.
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs for students, utilizing assessment data to make necessary updates.
Apply instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools for individualized support.
Assist students in achieving curriculum goals and IEP objectives.
Utilize diverse teaching methods and adapt materials to meet student needs.
Monitor and manage student behavior, employing de-escalation techniques as needed.
Evaluate student work and adjust instruction to accommodate learning needs.
Participate in IEP meetings as a collaborative team member.
Stay updated on best practices and trends in education through professional development.
Perform additional related duties as required.
Working Conditions:
Physical Environment: Ability to use office equipment, communicate effectively, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Physical tasks align with medium work standards.
Work Environment: Must work in classroom and office settings, interacting with staff, students, parents, and the community.
