Our mission is to guide middle and high school students in overcoming procrastination, disorganization, and anxiety by teaching time management, prioritization, and communication skills so they feel motivated, prepared, and empowered. Our sessions are held remotely (typically via Zoom) in a 1:1 setting. We empower students through online executive function coaching, using tools and resources and individual support, to guide students through the enhancement of key life skills, such as: Task initiation Planning and organization Time management - procrastination Advocating for themselves with their teachers and peers Life transition preparation (middle school to high school or high school to college) YOUR ROLE?
As an Executive Function Specialist, you will provide one-on-one remote coaching to help students build and strengthen skills like organization, time management, and self-advocacy. You will assess each student's current abilities, create individualized action plans, and guide them through regular coaching sessions. You'll work closely with parents and students to problem-solve around missing assignments, communication struggles with teachers, and other academic challenges. You may also partner with school districts and staff to support students with significant behavioral or executive function needs.
This is a fast-paced environment where families often come to us under high stress and pressure to get their students back on track. Success in this role requires flexibility, optimism, and confidence in your ability to help students succeed.
YOUR DAY/SCHEDULE - what might it look like?
Your day will primarily consist of remote coaching sessions with students, reviewing their progress, developing and updating coaching strategies, and documenting their progress. In addition, you'll collaborate with team members, participate in administrative tasks, and engage in professional development. Your schedule should allow for: Regular student sessions in the afternoon and evening (3 pm -9 pm PST) a 4-hour window of availability on the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday, between (9 am- 6 pm PST). Weekly Team Meetings from 11 am-Noon PST every Tuesday except holidays and school breaks
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must meet the minimum degree qualifications as detailed below, or the equivalent. Equivalency decisions are made based on a combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities.
Education: Master's degree in the field of Special Education.
Credential: Credential authorizing the holder to deliver special education instruction
Preferred Experience: A minimum of three years of teaching and/or coaching experience.
