Curriculum and Instruction:
Adapting and modifying curriculum materials to align with both regular education and special education standards. Implementing developmentally appropriate activities that foster cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Assessment and Evaluation:
Conducting formal and informal assessments to track student progress and identify learning needs. Writing progress reports and developing measurable goals and objectives for IEPs. Classroom Management:
Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages participation and positive behavior. Collaboration and Communication:
Working with a multidisciplinary team (special educators, related service providers, parents, etc.) to support student success. Communicating regularly with parents and guardians about student progress. Professional Development:
Staying current with best practices in early childhood and special education through ongoing professional development. Special Education Expertise:
Demonstrating a strong understanding of special education procedures, including writing IEPs and understanding relevant laws and regulations
The candidate must possess strong oral and written language skills, be collaborative, flexible, and able to work with a team of educators.
This is a full-time teaching position in accordance with the Sharon Public Schools Calendar.
Salary commensurate with experience, in accordance with the Sharon Teachers Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.
