Position Details NOTICE OF OPENING: Special Education Teacher Consultant

LOCATION: Westview Elementary School

WORK YEAR: 2025 – 2026 School Year

SALARY: Per FEA Contract

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required

Special Education Endorsement in SM, SE, SA or SV preferred

Eligible for or have Michigan Teacher Consultant approval required

Master’s Degree in related field required

3 years teaching experience; 3 years in Special Education required

Experience working with diverse student populations

Highly Effective Evaluation preferred

Experience in a Leadership Role preferred

Evidence of Exceptional Organization Skills required DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for a caseload of students

Monitoring and supporting students on a regular basis

Assessing individual needs of students

Developing a plan of support for student

Training, modeling, and mentoring teachers on support plans

Responsible for planning, assessment, and instruction

Responsible for coaching and supporting teachers in general and special education classes to improve skills in differentiation of curriculum and using appropriate supports for students to be successful.

Interpret and use data from ongoing assessments to inform instruction.
